A working meeting between the leadership of the Foundation for the Support of Islamic Culture, Science and Education and the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) took place at the OIC headquarters in Saudi Arabia.

       The negotiations were attended by:

• Evgeny Yeremin, Chairman of the Fund Council; Head of the Department for Interaction with Religious Organizations of the Presidential Directorate for Domestic Policy of the Russian Federation;

• Mikhail Gryaznov, Director of the Fund;

• Marat Gatin, Deputy Chairman of the Strategic Vision Group “Russia – Islamic World”;

• Hissein Brahim Taha, Secretary-General of the OIC.

       Also participating were representatives of relevant OIC departments:

• Dr. Boubakari Maiga, Head of Youth and Sports Department;

• Dr. Abdelhamid Salhi, Acting Director of the Information Department;

and others.

       The parties discussed cooperation in the fields of science, culture, and interreligious dialogue, with particular attention given to implementing joint initiatives in youth policy and education.

       The meeting was held with the participation of Yusup Abakarov, Consul General of the Russian Federation in Jeddah, and Asker Tapov, Deputy Permanent Representative of Russia to the OIC.

       In the future, the organizations plan to develop multifaceted cooperation based on shared values.
